Adam A. Aulestia is President and Founder of Aulestia Wealth Management, Inc., dba Aulestia Ventures, an independent Registered Investment Adviser (RIA) and Multi-Family Office. Adam is a seasoned finance veteran and well-known industry expert. Starting in 1998, while studying finance in college, he worked at major financial firms, T. Rowe Price, American Express and LPL Financial.
After graduating from the University of Delaware with a BSBA degree, majoring in Finance, minoring in Economics, he was highly recruited by several financial institutions and chose to take a position at the Federal Reserve Bank. He was assigned the lead in reporting bank budgeting and analysis and given the role to lead the upgrade of the bank’s financial reporting technology platform. As an expert in budgeting, technology and financial analysis, he was recruited to work at Citigroup, a Fortune 10 company, where he reported to the CFO, focusing on analyzing and improving Financial Statements for bank earnings reporting.
While succeeding on improving and understanding financial statement analysis, Adam was recruited by Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Private Client Group, a Fortune 50 company, to bring this same level of expertise to high-net worth families. During his time at Morgan Stanley, he obtained his CFP® or CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation at the American College. The CFP® is the most prestigious and highest designation one can achieve in the Financial Planning industry, monitored by the CFP Board.
During the financial crisis of 07’-08’ he realized that he wanted to part ways with the Wall Street model and culture. He recognized that his client base and his practice deserved a more personalized, objective culture, which led him to seek out and interview the leading Independent financial broker-dealers.
In 2009, Adam affiliated with the largest independent broker-dealer in the country, LPL Financial, where he established Aulestia Wealth Management, Inc. After nearly a decade affiliated with LPL, the Aulestia Wealth Management business had expanded beyond the capabilities of what the broker-dealer model could offer. Due to client demand and this business expansion, the firm registered as an independent Registered Investment Adviser (RIA).
As a multi-family office, the firm works mostly with high-net worth ($1MM+) and ultra-high net worth ($25MM+) families, entrepreneurs and institutional clients.
With his experience and understanding of Wealth Management, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking and Other Investment Activity, Adam brings his clients a deep analytical approach and view that separates him from an industry full of salespeople. With his depth of knowledge, he helps his clients analyze the impact of financial decisions and how to maximize those decisions.
Outside of work, Adam serves on the Board of Directors of the International Student House, Washington D.C. and in the past has held the roles of Chair of the Finance Committee, Executive Committee and Treasurer. He has also been a member of the Financial Services Institute and has been involved with the Trust for the National Mall, Small Business Technology Council and National Small Business Association.
Even though life is active and busy, Adam’s most important and favorite way to spend time is with his wife and children.
